Ryan Donegan (Palau, Ministry of Education)
Palau’s Ministry of Education is responsible for developing, evaluating and advancing Palau’s public education system, serving a network of sixteen elementary schools and one high school. The educators are required to complete daily lesson plans for every class that they teach. Ryan spent the summer designing and developing initial MOE lesson planning applications for tablets and integrating curriculum data into CSV format for English and Math while establishing a framework to integrate other learning targets as well. Ryan was able to train MOE specialists to support and maintain the tablet application and presented the application to a group of teachers, administrators and principals. However, he did not get to see the official rollout of the application. With more time, the ultimate goal is to substitute digital plans for the current paper templates that are being used.
