A little bit of a funny story. At the end of last Wednesday at Environmental Health, Katie told me that I should check out the giant orange/tangerine/grapefruit that was on Alex’s desk.
I found it, and it was indeed a giant orange/tangerine/grapefruit! I didn’t get to look for long because Bieb, who was going home, picked it up and started carrying it away–it must have been hers. Before she could leave, I asked her what it was, and received the same orange/tangerine/grapefruit explanation.
But then she asked if I wanted it. I was surprised by her kindness, but I took it all the same and the experience of eating it was quite interesting. Edmund says that it was a “pomelo.”
On Friday as Bieb was leaving, I noticed that she was carrying a coconut home. I was curious, so I asked, “Is that a coconut?” She then explained that her cousin gave it to her, and then offered it to me!
So now I’ve taken two fruits from Bieb, and next time she’s carrying one home I’m not so sure I should ask what kind of fruit it is. But maybe if I’m really hungry…
